target audience for animated films

for this genre there are many different ways this genre can appeal to the view but depending on the sub genre depends what the target audience is. For Japanese anime the target audience can be a wide range depending on what the film/ show is about if it was a more childish film it can aim to a younger audience but if the film is mature and contains either violence or inappropriate actions then the film is better appealing to adults. for the adult sub genre animated films haft to appeal to the older audience due to the mature content within the film. and for the rest of the sub genres i feel as if they are all aimed at yonger audiences due to the content within for example toy story is a family film but can relate more to the younger audience due to the fact kids love toys as it may have been a big part of their lifestyle as a kid.

the conventions of animation films

conventions of animated films:
in the animated genre there are many sub genres such as: anime which is the Japanese approach to produce great films such as spirited away and has also grown in popularity all over the world, adult animation which is much more suited for adults due to the fact adult humour is used a lot more within the films in shows/films such as: simpsons or family guy, animated children have a much more kid friendly approach to the films mainly based on love stories or friendship this sub genre has impacted millions of childhoods with classics like: snow white, beauty and the beast, incredibles, finding memo, and aladdin, animated musicals this sub genre is very similar to the animated children in terms of story line and characters but contains a lot more music production from singing to dancing for example: frozen, snow white and lion king, and lastly family animations this sub genre allows or has an effect to make a family do things together for example socialise or sing and dance this sub genre also has a lot of humour not to mature but also can appeal to an older audience making the film enjoyable for example: despicable me, toy story or cars.

star wars episode 7 opening analysis

In the opening of star wars episode 7 there are many genre indicators to suggest that the film is a sci fi such as: the costume for the characters consisting of space helmets and space suits, the weapons are very futuristic, the location during the scene (seems to be based on a different planet), the transport with the use of a ship to fly in and out of the planet, and the supernatural powers (the force).
From this scene of star wars there are many questions to be asked such as: where are they, what is the republic after, why is this artefact so important, where do they go after leaving, why kill the man, what will they do to the soldier, why did that one storm trooper stop attacking.
From the opening of star wars we find out that we find out that the villain kylo ren is looking for parts of a map of some sort to look for the legendary Luke sky walker, we also find out that kylo ren is not scared to kill as he kills that old man who was being questioned and we also find out that kylo ren has the power to use the force.
In this opening there are a wide range of effective sounds from the non-diegetic sound to the diegetic sound from a gun for example such as:  when the ship lands the soundtrack is used effectively to show that they are more dominant and feared from the civilians, with the sounds of the blaster it links to the genre indicators of the weapons being futuristic, the screams and yells from the villagers suggest that they are all in pain and are scared and lastly the sound that is used as the kylo ren stops the bullet/beam with the force creates a very scary feeling towards the character and also shows how powerful the man is.

In this opening there are many uses of camera shots and angles such as: right off the bat as they land there us a low angle long shot with this shot it suggests the dominance towards the villagers, there is an establishing shot showing the village and the villagers in this shows how many and how big the area is for them, there are many close ups pf key characters showing emotion and also allowing the characters to speak their dialogue.
