ride along 2 opening

In this opening scene there are many indications to the genre, from watching it I found out that it is an action comedy film. In this scene they show it in many ways such as: car chase scenes, weapons and violence, fast music, funny humor and explosions these all represent action and some represent humor.

In this opening there are many questions to be asked such as: who are they trying to catch, why one of the main characters are not allowed to help their partner, where they are or what are they doing and their purpose.

From the opening we find out that there is a group of detectives under cover trying to catch someone who appears to be a drug dealer and when they catch their target it leads to a lot more secrets not told but will be further into the film.

With the use of music there is a lot going one such as : there is a very modern sound track in the back ground using rap to make the film a lot more of a fast tempo but also gives the excitement vibe to all the casing and all the violence.

In the scene a lot of effective shows are used such as: there is a great use of extreme close ups of the police badge showing that they are apart of the police service but get caught while undercover, one other shot Is good is the medium shot of the man hanging out of the car it makes me feel that we were in both apart of the chase as well as being in the car.

In the opening scene of the film there are many things that indicate the genre of the film. Such as: what they are doing within the scene by robbing a bank, what they are using for example weapons and lastly later in the scene there seems to be a lot of violence to represent the action.

There are many questions that are to be asked during these opening things such as: who is the joker, why do they wear a mask, how come one of the bad guys survived, who will stop them or where they will go next.

From this opening scene we find out that there is a person who may or may not be the villain called the joker.  We also find out that barely anyone knows about the joker as during the robbery people asked a lot of questions about the joker. We find out that they rob a bank and they are responsible for a lot of the damage caused to the building.

Surprisingly there isn’t much music but as the scene carries on a sudden beat starts to play and this creates a faster pace to the movie giving the feel of rush and action.  Then when the mysterious man reveals himself the mood changes to very haunting music and makes the character very feared. 

Well within the opening scene there are many uses of shots such as : a long shot when the people used grapples that showed us the setting and how dangerous the robbery was, one other one is a close up of what the are using for masks that just shows the viewer that they are going to be bad people but also shows that they are dangerous people doing bad things just by the intimidation and finally the close up of the man with the make up on really showed that he was a very dominant figure to everyone as he looks down at his victms.

In this opening scene there are many key ways the directors shows that the film is a fantasy genre film, the way they show this is by showing owls as they represent mystery and wizardry, one other way they show the genre is by showing the costumes of the characters with the long wizard hats to the long robes and lastly with the use of the music and sound it gave the feel of wizardry from it been mysterious ad giving a magical feel.

Some of the questions to be asked are: who are these characters, what’s so special about the boy, why he is with them, how can they do magical things and where are they.

In the opening we find out that there are 4 characters that supposedly are very important, they seem like they are wizards with the use of powers and magical tools, and the main character appears to be the young boy harry potter.

With the use of music and sound the feeling threw out the whole scene is creating a very mysterious vibe but also gave me a very spooky feel.

There are many shots that were affective from long shots to extreme close ups. One of the shots is a long shot of at a long angle of hagrid the effect of that show showed how dominant his appearance was, one other one was an extreme close up of harry porter and his scar this shows importance and that makes him a very important character.

From the start of the clip there is a close up straight away of one of the zombies chasing our characters, from the close up it shows how scary they actual zombie looks but also giving it the impression that the zombie has a lot of power over the characters. Carrying on in the scene is another close up but of Dom’s wife and by using this close up we are able to see the amount of desperation she has as she screams for dom but the added affect is that the edit is slow down for more dramatic affect.  Then following up from that is a close up of dom’s face and the affect of this is powerful as he hast to make a decision to help his wife and having higher risk to escape or save himself where it is much more certain he would be able to carry on with his life but yet again the also have a slow mo edited with in that shot which helps show the destperation but also helps show the actual movement the zombies have compared to the charaters in the film.
 In the next chains of events within the scene there is a medium shot of dom shutting the door on his wife and he runs to escape, this shot shows what his true decision and makes the scene so powerful as it shows the desperation for what they both have.

As the clips move on the camera angles are much different from being close to being medium shots to long shots as there is a long shot from a low angle where he falls from the roof the shot is affective due to the fact it shows how much dom is struggling to both cope with is choice and trying to escape at the same time. But this leads to a transition to the next camera shot, which is an extreme long shot from a high angle the affect of this shot shows the dominance of the zombies around him as in the shot it shows that there are a lot chasing him as he runs for his life. But just before that shot was an amazing shot that was a medium into long shot that was similar to a point of view shot as it showed that dom looked back at his wife calling for him at the window and it slowly zoomed out as she was attacked and dragged away into the darkness not to be seen, the affect of this shot helps the viewer feel tension as it makes you wonder how he is feeling seeing his wife as she is dragged into dark ness. The next shot following that is an over the shoulder shot of a zombie as it runs after dom, it shows how intimidating the creatures are by showing there movement when they are chasing after their food. Next shot makes you feel like your running along dom but as if you were looking at him as well it is a medium shot from the side of him, it also has a smart unfocused sighting of the zombies chasing him making you realize if you were with him how many are there what do they look like ect. During the final part is a series of close ups as two characters try to get a boat going but one doesn’t make it dom successfully makes it on the boat but by the use of the close ups of him and whats happen around him with a friend dying and being chased by maybe 50 zombies shows what his emotions are at this point it shows he’s panicking as he looks distressed but he also looks angry due to his past.

The film i have chosen is the film rio. During the first few seconds of the clip you can instantly tell that the film is an animation film due to the style of the film and the look of each detail within the clip its self. Further into the clip the characters in the clip that are birds start to sing in a very festival manor this links very well with the name of the film as it the name is rio and the style of the singing replicates the festival style that brazil is famous for, also with the birds singing this also means that the film is a hybrid in terms of the genres leading to the musical genre. This clip also creates a lot of mystery in terms of what is going on or why they are singing dancing as if its a performance, in one scene at the end of the clip there is a young chip sleeping in its nest but he falls out, from this i ask a lot of questions for example what happens to the bird what will happen will he return.in my opinion this clip meets all the stereo types to do with cartoon films as most tend to be family friendly, very up lifting and colourful to attract the younger eye, just like movies like toy story, monsters inc,finding memo,tangled ect.But what makes it different from others is the style of the music settings the colour this makes the film have a very exotic vibe that can make you feel like you in the middle of brazil at a festival. lastly the film clearly shows what the film will be about with the last scene of the young bird falling out of the nest meaning that it hast to find its way back to his family or hast to live on his own but there could be wild animals or even hunters looking for the bird for bad reasons.

INTRODUCTION

what is my favorite film and why?

my favorite film hast to be "the forbidden kingdom" starring the legendary Jackie Chan and the amazing jet Li. I enjoy the film a lot as its has a very good way of telling a traditional legend being monkey magic in a much more modern way, i feel like the the film has also inspired many other film makers to follow the path of telling traditional stories  with a modern vibe to it. With the film already having an amazing line up with the likes of Jackie Chan, the film also has the great use of genres from being an action adventure to being a fantasy film then having some slight romance really helps the film just become amazing.

who is my favorite director and why? 

recently I have been very interested in Aj Abrams for many reasons, I feel like he has been a very under rated director  as he has done a wide range of fantastic films with he likes of star trek and star wars episode 7. He has clearly shown that he is able to make wonderful movies that are stunning with the effects.

what is my favorite genre?

I don't have a favorite genre, but the one that interests me the most is science fiction films because you can have a wide range of things to work with with a zombie apocalypse to alien warfare fore example world war z and the avengers.I also think that science fiction is very underrated due to the fact that its not as relate able to real life then some but for example possibly things within the script can teach you new things that may be hard in normal education for example scientific formulas.

what film releases am i anticipating?

recently I haven't been look at films but from what I last looked at I'm really looking forward to the marvel line up of films for this year and the next with movies like spider man homecoming, avengers, Thor, ant man 2, guardians of the galaxy and more. The line up of films is endless with amazing film releases.

what was the last film i watched and what did i think?

the last film I ever saw was captain america civil war. I thought the film was amazing showing off so many upcoming characters in films also showing the new technology within the films timeline, but I loved the way they had used the emotions from the actors friendships in the movie as they are all partners but it ends up slowly breaking apart.
