Conventions for action films
Usually in an action film the genre indicators are things
like: violence, explosions, and guns. In terms of characters there are a wide
range of characters to work with such as: villain, protagonist, antagonists,
love interests, sidekicks and more. Stereo typically in an action film in terms
of the villains they tend to be very weak but also have lots of body guards or
the villain tends to be foreign for example in the recent American action films
they tend to be Russian villains. In terms
of the setting there are a lot of stereotypes for example some films maybe
located in heavily populated areas for example new York but if its more than a
war film action films tends to be a located in the villages of viet nam or a
desert. Stereotypically there are a lot of cheesy lines for the main characters
for example before a major kill the main character may say “see you later” with
explosions all around
